Chapter 3
version 1.3 or repair number 3

This is one of the PC standards that is most revealing. In software you will note almost every software that exists has a version number attached to it. Also you will note all of the repairs will be listed since the previous version. Now this would be common sense if they were improvements or enhancements or additions but most if not all are actual repairs to broken software that they sold you.
This of course exposes the fact they didn't even test the software to any real extent. Search Microsoft knowledge base(theres a misnomer) for bugs or problems on Winxp alone it goes into the hundreds of thousands. Then they have what they call patches how many do you think you will find of these?

Microsoft did not discover most of these bugs you did and then you sent them in to their knowledge base. Again more evidence they sold you millions of dollars of defective software they didn't even check and apparently there not required to by any law.

Now when your software breaks you get a pop up that asks you to send in a report so they can fix the broken software they sold you. I could understand this for open source or freeware wear you don't pay for it but for a billion dollar company like Microsoft and the hundreds of other software corporations this is unacceptable. Don't sell broken software fix it your damn self.

Which brings me to my next computer tip to live by use open source or freeware software. Start with a much better alternative to Windows XP its called Linux http://www.linux.org/ they even have dual boot software where you can use Winxp if you have to while still using Linux. This software has over 10 different versions of its operating system like red hat and their all stable and don't cost a dime. And yes its absolutely free. Instead of Microsoft office suite use Open office at http://www.openoffice.org/ its free, its totally compatible and you can save in any Microsoft office format too. It comes with all of the Microsoft suite formats Excel Word .doc .xml etc....
Explorer browser is full of security holes and nowhere near as good as Firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ and Outlook express by Microsoft is even worse for Emails most of the viruses that exist have gained entrance through this software . Use Thunderbird for your Emails instead at http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/ . All of the above software is open source and free and its even better because everyone checks and tests it daily but the best feature is all the free add ons that people create and donate for free. I am using these to create this document now. What ever you need check out http://www.opensource.org/ first or google open source or freeware before you put your money down for another piece of software.

Theres no reason to pay for software. What free software! What are you nuts? No I am just not rich I guess. It serves to demonstrate the incompetence and intentional selling of defective software by these corporations. When you see and use the freeware and open source products it really shows how poor and just how defective the other software is. As I use this software I build confidence and trust and I can remember what it felt like to use a computer that wasn't broken or held together by technical scotch tape. My anxiety recedes and my production time increases dramatically.

I begin to realize the excitement and passion I used to have for technology and computers before the Microsoft IBM INTEL PC cartel(hereby from now on referred to as the Cartel). I realize how many work hours and how much passion has been lost by millions of people and employees worldwide as a result.

I remember using the voice technology in the SID chip in the Commodore 64 in 1983 to prompt and record output on my computer , I remember the music I created and later the video I created on the Amiga, the future looked wide open and computers worked. I only mention the computers I do because these are the ones that most people used and the ones I have experience with, I know there were a couple of others that were just as reliable and even some of the early 286 models were solid. The Atari had a lot of similar attributes as well and certainly the Apple had some amazing features too but most importantly it was reliable.
We would be much better off with the computers from long ago than todays monstrous bloated expensive broken computers and software. The Amiga was an online machine too and worked flawlessly online. It was also a dual boot system I had the cartel software and Windows operating system working at the same time as the Amiga O.S. .
It doesn't make any sense to listen to the Cartel and certainly makes no sense to purchase from them. I know fellow Amigan's are still modifying their Amiga's to compete and in a lot of cases supersede the Cartel in performance reliability and certainly in creativity. Feel free to Email me with your stories Amigan's or any other non Cartel computer users. And like I said above let me know if your using a non Cartel system that doesn't meet the requirements listed but is still performing just as well.
IDEA:buy and build Amiga systems adapt their hardware to use and implement larger storage devices and more ram and compare to the Cartel today.
