Chapter 11

online opinion websites

These sites are fast becoming watered down useless websites.

And you thought search engines were difficult to use.

The concept was, you type in the product are looking for in their search box, and they will not only give you the best price, but they will also provide you with opinions from nonbiased reviewer's. Well so much for theory and reality. Now the best can hope for is you won't spend three hours searching for the best price only to discover that you been bumped Amazon.com when you want to or not. And you just wasted three hours.

I remember when these sites for started they were terrific. There is a site called E. Pinion.com. It was a great site. I stress the word was. Now these sites are inundated with people pretending to be unbiased reviewer's who turned out to be either store owners or professionally paid reviewers who are paid by the review. And of course there are a thousand copycat sites. The end result is this concept has been rendered useless. Just like the search engine was before Google stepped in. So hopefully some brilliant person with millions of dollars will step in and build a E. Pinion Google site. Maybe it will be Google themselves.

Well, here's a tip for you, until Google steps in and saves the world again. First, you can't consider product reviewed answers, only three or four reviews. It just doesn't make any sense and doesn't give you a proper cross-section. Nor does it give you a large enough group to make a conclusion from there should be at least 20 reviewers. And of course you have to read between the lines. So if you're not a professional or you don't know this product very well then you're really going to have to read between the lines. One of the things you can tell is where they bought the product. A lot of people are buying products that are used, or they're sold by people in eBay. Then they go on these websites and review the product. This of course takes away from the validity of their review. After all, if you bought a product that was used. There is no way you could possibly tell what had happened to it before you bought it. Also, you certainly didn't pay full price for it. And of course, you probably didn't get a guarantee or warranty with the product and to me. Being a geek, the most important thing is, you probably didn't get a manual and you don't know how to use the product properly. Then you go out and write a review based on you hacked around and try to figure out how to use the product and couldn't figure it out. And then determine it was crap. So you gave it two out of 10. Also I've read hundreds of reviews, and I can tell you that the people are writing these views have no idea what they're talking about. They just simply don't know how to use the product. I know, because that's my business, and I can see that they make fundamental mistakes and then blame the product. If you read the reviews that are in the magazines and are done by professionals. Then at least you will get eight accurate representation of how well the product works and then I would go to the opinion website and look for the best price

So. And this is how I do it first. I go to the magazine where websites where professionals review the products, and then I picked the best product based on their reviews. Then I go to the opening in website and look for reviews with more than 20 reviews. Of course, reading between the lines. Then I go to price grabber or some other price comparison website and look for the best price. Now this brings up another subject, price comparison websites DS these websites are not totally honest either. Nor are they totally accurate, one of the things she had to take into consideration is. Most of these listings do not really exist in other words, they say they have the product but you go there and product doesn't exist or they don't have in stock and then you find of course it's not exactly version you were looking for and again you wasted another two or three hours. The next thing to look at his where is it coming from, how much is the shipping is a new or refurbished product and my biggest pet peeve is when somehow they have managed to manipulate the code so that they show up on every price comparison website to matter what the product is. And of course they don't even carry that product and don't even try to do a price comparison on Google. That is totally manipulated with exactly the same problem I described about. Not to mention all the ads that the companies pay for to be on the top.

Can you really tell important information about the person that's doing the review. No you can't tell how old they are, or how much experience they have and you don't know where they got the product. That is some pretty damn important information. So what's a person to do here is my next tip and no, most important tip. It's actually just an average tip of very valuable one. It could save you thousands of dollars and thousands of hours. Now, that was a commercial I once was going to do okay. Here's what you do, you have to go to Shopping forms like red flag or frugal shopper Canada, and then look for the forum that is appropriate to your product. Most of the people on these forums are just like you. The difference is they already done the work for you. Not only will they tell you the best price that to you where to get it and they will tell you what the best product is too I purchase somebody electronic products all the time. So I have a pretty good comprehension of this experience, and I can tell you it's a jungle out there
