I will demystify the myth that computers work so you can get back your sanity

I don't have time for indexes we have already wasted over 10 years on what they call computers.

First let no one from this day forward tell you “this computer works”.
In fact thats the first question I would ask any salesperson or teacher.
“Does this computer work?” The myriad and multitude of answers you will get other than yes should verify to you the obvious answer is no.
Anyone who answers yes to this question is obviously a liar or knows absolutely nothing about computers. I think just hearing this statement has probably caused you to all ready lose 100 pounds of stress and frustration.

The computer is very much in the beta stage and you are the guinea pig. It is important to know where you stand. Here is the latest stats from Microsoft on their service pack one “fixes”
324720 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324720/) List of fixes in Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows XP Service Pack 1a

I hope you have 350 years to review the fixes, and I hope you are a computer engineer. Otherwise don't bother clicking the link, and that's just for one patch for one version of software. Don't be fooled into thinking there are percentages of how long or how well the computer works it doesn't ever work. Most of your computers energy and programming is spent on fixing and hiding this very fact. Stuff more ram into it, increase the hard drive, increase the CPU speed , all of it to cover up the fact it is not working it is crashing as I type this on my home computer.

Everything you do on your computer is temporary and about to be lost for ever. Everything you save and backup is temporary and deteriorating as you read this. The CD or DVD is deteriorating and the if you have not stored it properly. It's not going to function. See broken Cd/DVD and useless tape backups section later on.

You will or have spent much of your day on the computer today, all of the work you have done today is temporary and deteriorating. You will pay thousands of dollars to delay the computer from crashing or losing your data , so you can catch it or save it before it does. People pay not to have their computers work faster or better or be improved but to delay the time it takes them to fall apart.

Yes you think your buying a new computer a new operating system a faster hard drive. Thats what you have been told by experts even, but this is not true. You are buying scotch tape, band aids, and glue and even worse technology and architecture that is more than fifteen years old and nowhere near as good as it was then.

All of the projects you have created on the computer are burning away, deteriorating the instant you record or archive them.

Operating systems, again this is a fallacy. There are no operating systems, these are search and recovery systems. Security hardware or software? No such thing. These truly are the band aids of broken computers. Backup soft/hardware there kidding right? In any other business sector we say return this item for a refund.

So now not only do you have to protect the stuff you create on the computer while your creating it, you have to protect the archives of the stuff you created because none of it works in the first place. Hmmm.. where have we seen this pattern before? Oh yeah with cars except they also kill you too thats why you pay so much more for them.
Can computers or have computers ever worked?
Yes they have and yes they can. But they cant sell you that, its just not profitable enough. Motivation is the key here and profit is the sole motivation.
I will elaborate on these points and more in the following chapters I thought I would give you a breath of fresh air first after all of the smog you have been taking in .
